The Maree Man is a large geoglyph (earth drawing) in South Australia, located near the town of Marree. It depicts a human figure, often described as a hunter or an Aboriginal man holding a stick or boomerang. The geoglyph is one of the largest in the world, measuring about 4.2 kilometers in length and covering an area of more than 2.5 square kilometers. It was first discovered in 1998 from the air by a charter pilot flying over the area. The creation of the Maree Man remains shrouded in mystery. No one has officially claimed responsibility for it, and the purpose behind its creation is unknown. Over the years, there has been speculation that it could have been created by local artists or even as part of an international project, but concrete evidence hasn't emerged. The figure was carved into the ground using machinery, and some researchers believe it could have been created in the 1990s due to the available technology and methods of that era. The drawing faded over time due to natural erosion, but efforts were made in recent years to restore it. The geoglyph has since become a curious attraction for those fascinated by both its scale and the enigma surrounding its origins.

The Marree Man, or Stuart's Giant, is a modern geoglyph discovered in 1998. It appears to depict an Indigenous Australian man hunting with a boomerang or stick. It lies on a plateau at Finnis Springs 60 km (37 mi) west of the township of Marree in central South Australia, approximately 12 km north-west of Callanna. It is just outside the 127,000-square-kilometre (49,000 sq mi)[1] Woomera Prohibited Area. The figure is 2.7 km (1.7 mi) tall with a perimeter of 28 km (17 mi), extending over an area of about 2.5 km2 (620 acres). Although it is one of the largest geoglyphs in the world (arguably second to the Sajama Lines), its origin remains a mystery, with no one claiming responsibility for its creation nor any eye-witness having been found, notwithstanding the scale of the operation required to form the outline on the plateau floor. The description "Stuart's Giant" was used in anonymous faxes sent to media as "Press Releases" in July 1998, in a reference to the explorer John McDouall Stuart. It was discovered fortuitously by a charter pilot in an overflight on 26 June 1998.

Marree Man geoglyph is 60km west of Murree town on a plateau at Finnis Springs in central South Australia, Australia. Wonderful art. Restored recently(2016) for its longevity. it is still thriving in the Australian outback. It is a massive geoglyph of an aboriginal hunter, spanning over 4km long and 28km periphery. Mystery still holds on to it's creator. Watched by Sun and Moon over years it came to the knowledge of modern human world in the year 1998 by a pilot. It is also called Stuart's Giant. Great creativity. Salute to the Artist for his or her great work. Live long Marree...
