We’ve stayed at Big 4/Breeze Cania Gorge a few times now, from tenting to the hillside cabins, and on this occasion it was off, it seems to have lost its vibe. ||The bird life was very quiet, not like recent visits where birds where everywhere all the time, the bird feeding was not like it used to be, just standing around and waiting for action but nothing this time. Very disappointed. ||It’s recently had a change of management, which the park workers are polite and friendly, and most of the reception ladies. |Fire pits are available but have an order in by 3:30, we were 10 mins late and the staff just shrugged their shoulders. The leaflet stated wood orders to be in by 3:30, not the fire pit order. Email acknowledgement could be improved also. ||The toilet/shower facilities were generally clean, good hot water in the showers however the temp fluctuated often as people were using them and making the shower burning to luke warm, so be mindful when others are using also! ||The pool/water park was busy, very cold even in 30deg days. The ground surrounding the pool should be considered for some maintenance or upgrade, it can be very slippery!! We saw multiple slips. The jumping pillow and tennis courts were very popular, but again saw no one playing the frisbee golf, this area could be revamped feels very under-utilised. ||Pizza night was great and convenient filled the spot, 9” pizzas varied from $10-25 and also 15” pizzas varied from $16-32. Orders have to be in early however. Coffees also available from reception. There is a little convenience store in reception but the shelves were not stocked, only 50% full. ||The park was very dry, desperately need some rain, and the nearby dam only has 26% capacity and again did not deliver with any red claw activity. ||The national park walks near by are great, however again very dry, no water running through the creeks. Dripping Rock however was surprisingly still dripping! ||We’ll look to return again in the future but not in a hurry due to this...

Read moreI & my family enjoyed our 5 days at Cania Gorge & the Big4, 2 of those days were spent at the Dam doing water sports. Although the dam was very low the water in the Dam was like glass & perfect for skiing. For the fisherman in the family, they weren't disappointed...caught quite a lot of Bass & a Saratoga. The Big4 has a lot of activities available for young & old including 3 smallish swimming pools, a kiddies adventure pool & a water slide. The down side of the pools was; *the 3 pools were not sparkling clean & had bits floating in them.... *none of them are shallow enough for say 5 to 9 year olds. the water in the kiddies adventure pool was freezing while the 3 big pools were quite warm. there was no supervision in the pool area and 10 to 14 year olds were running around playing 'tag' in the kiddies adventure pool. There was also a 10 or 11 year old throwing a rubber missile in one of the bigger pools & then running around throwing it to other older kids in the whole of the pool area. *there was not enough seating for adults. *the jumping pillow is not covered & was quite dangerous when wet when it rained. *the one and only Dunny Dump is quite far from the camping area. *a movie was played every night but in an open area where you either sit on the grass or bring your own chair. Naturally no movies are played when it rains. They have a fantastic big camp kitchen which would be a more appropriate venue for the movies. *The Standard Cabin was very small and old with antiquated furniture & air conditioner & a very uncomfortable bed. *the amenities block closest to the pool area was not very clean & neither was the mop. *The ladies in the Office were very friendly & helpful & the shop sells all of the basic needs. *Fish & Chips night was good but you sit in dining area, take you're own condiments with you as they only provide lemon...
