Great for a short family out for the young (with proper supervision), teens, and older folk.
We fed the alpacas through the fence for $3.20. $3 for the bag of feed and a $0.20 card surcharge (I think?). You can enjoy the farm and it's scenery for some cheap fun, but if you get into their picnic or wine packages or you'd like to actually walk an alpaca, be prepared to be spending a LOT more. You are NOT allowed to bring outside food or drink from home, so ensure to eat beforehand if you're planning on keeping costs minimal. Everything is priced as you'd expect for a tourism attraction, with their prices on the website.
The alpacas in the fenced area are happy to come up to you if you have some feed for them to munch on and are friendly and extremely cute.
There is plenty of open grassy area to enjoy in the shade of a tree or in the sun.
The creek is bubbling and beautiful with a sturdy fallen log across it which was quite popular to walk across.
Their gift shop has a variety of items for sale including fluffy alpaca or australian animal merchandise and key rings, to t-shirts about wine, to actual wine, to handmade skincare products, various cooking oils, and honey.
It would be safe for small children, if supervised as the alpacas do spit and some of them slightly bite your hand when they take the food from it. The grassy areas can get VERY busy with people walking their alpacas who can be unpredictable in what direction they choose to go (or how fast)!
But definitely come for a visit and if you're there to feed them and relax you will probably stay between 30 mins to an hour max (so it isn't really an...
Β Β Β Read moreIβve been there a couple times.Last Saturday was a rather disappointed one. I spent 23bucks for 15mins alpaca experience. We took some photos with them gently. But the alpaca seems been hungry all day without feeding, so that he keeps run and run, and eat those grass. So I just said βhey buddy! Keep goingβ and pull him by lash very gently. All the sudden, thereβs a female staff raised her voice and yelling on me front of other customers and she said, βplease be nicely to them, they are an animal not your petβ and ask me to respect their behaviour. I was so shocking, confusing and embarrassing as Iβve done nothing for that alpaca. And that staff was being rude and did a bad behaviour to me. As what she says, I am a human not your employee and I donβt even know who you are, so you donβt have rights to yell on others, too.
On the other side, if you have a lot of concerns about your animals may get harm by customers. And you suppose to display your policy at counter, and ask each customer what you canβt do when you experience with alpaca. And you can stop their inappropriate behaviour by asking, after all the customers notice the policy.
Anywayβ¦ I wonβt go back again. And I wonβt suggest anyone to go either, until they improve their...
Β Β Β Read moreUnfortunately one staff member in particular was extremely rude and thought it was okay to yell out at guests using a very abrupt tone. Her approach could have been handled in a much better manner. She was rude to not only our party but to many others as well. This was very disappointing as the experience could have more enjoyable without our attention being drawn to the abruptness of the staff member. We were actually in disbelief that this staff member felt her behaviour was acceptable. The staff inside the shop were lovely and very helpful. However, it wasn't the best coffee and hot chocolate though. After two separate orders, all drinks were only just warm when they should have been hot. Hopefully the young staff member will take on further training and find the perfect serving temperature. It is a shame the picnic packs are so expensive as the grounds are lovely to sit and relax in. It would be better business for young families to be able to purchase affordable picnic packs and be encouraged to enjoy the outdoors as it really is a beautiful setting. For the price of this experience, I would not recommend it. It definitely has room for...
