Cave Woolomai on Philip Island is a picturesque location with a beautiful beach, hidden gems. It can be quite windy and cold, especially in March. The walk to the cave is long took us about 2, 3 hrs to complete, so it is important to wear comfortable and sturdy shoes. Unfortunately, the area is also known for the high number of dead birds that can be found there during certain times of the year. The birds migrate to the area every September from the Aleutian Islands and the chicks are left to survive on their own after their parents leave in April/May. Thousands of birds do not make it, which is a common sight on the beach during this time. Overall, while the scenery is beautiful, the presence of dead birds can be a bit distressing for some visitors

The trail offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, ocean views, and wildlife. Highlights include the Pinnacles – dramatic granite rock formations that rise from the sea – and sweeping views from the highest point on Phillip Island. Along the way, I met wallabies, black swans, grey geese. The track is well-marked and mostly easy to moderate, though some sections can be a bit sandy or rocky. Before going, have to be checked the tides.

Amazing and very easy walk in the seaside bush. At the sunset is kind of easy to meet wallabies and echidnas. Very nice place for the birdwatchers too. Plenty of parking spots at least in the weekdays. Part of the walk is on the beach in the sand. So if you have a couple of hours go for it!
