The dam is lovely. A lot of room to camp both the trees side and no trees side. I paddled on it for a week and only saw four boats. Weekends it can get pretty busy especially in Spring and Summer. Blayney is not far away if you need to top up with groceries. It is listed as having a shower but it only had a hole in the wall where the shower used to be. The Carcoar Dam is a family friendly location. It’s a popular place for people to visit to fish and participate in water sports. There are toilets located near the shoreline of the dam. Plenty of parking. Make sure you head around to the southern side of the dam and drive your vehicle across the wall of the dam. I love this place... Be aware that in school holidays it's quite packed..As we came in Easter holidays once .. But we are also here now in November and there is plenty of space.. Just to warn you.. There seems to be some locals that set up camp up the top of the hill near the amenities.. Permanently. And they run a generator all...
