Had difficulties finding the park, as there was poor signage to its location if you come from Coleambally. It would have also been helpful to state the distance from the entrance to the park to the homestead. (About 8 kilometres). Enjoyed walking around the homestead, the BBQ/picnic areas were immaculate. Bring plenty of water and make sure your petrol is full before leaving. Long but enjoyable day. Glad we made the effort.

Had a fabulous time with my photography friends.. you can encounter with lot of birds, (Emus, Eagles, Owls, Honeyeaters, Falcons..etc) Kangaroos, Rabbits and plus more species.. Having the BBQ facilities and toilets facilities around the main information center makes it more ideal for day-outing...

Long drive and poorly signposted from anywhere. Not a lot to see and do there but the old homestead was impressive and interesting. Picnic shelter was good. Would not recommend in summer or wet weather. Ranger was friendly and informative.

A little known fact is that Oolambeyan was the site of a crazed gunman in 1989. He killed 2 and wounded another 2 (one of whom was rendered as a paraplegic). It's a great site for morbid tourism.

Another little known fact is that you can actually fully visit (and even use the amenities/facilities) within the homestead. It has a shower/toilet/handbasin etc.

The BBQ area is VERY CLEAN, the homestead is immaculately kept and the new park ranger and his family are extremely friendly and accommodating. He even put a signal booster in the Homestead so you can actually now get reception on your phone out there.

If anyone wants to see more of Oolambeyan before they commit to the journey out just check me out on YouTube, I've done a few videos of the place.

Coming directly in from the Sturt Highway is the only way you wanna do it if you're not in a 4wd. I'd advise against coming in a 2wd via Coleambally (or really any other direction other than from Carrathol) if it has been raining in the past week. The roads out there stay wet for abit and there are some small but notable impassable parts for 2wd vehicles that will...

The team here are fantastic 😉 place looks incredible and the atmosphere is so serene. Lots of beautiful wildlife and lots of red dirt! Beautiful old buildings all around and the homestead is like something from an old western/time travel novel. Very clean BBQ facilities with running water and a toilet. All very well maintained. What a cool...
