Big Brook Dam in Western Australia, it is a popular recreational area located near Pemberton in the state's southwest region. The dam is nestled within the picturesque forests of the Warren National Park and offers a tranquil setting for outdoor activities.

Visitors to the Big Brook Dam can enjoy a range of recreational activities such as picnicking, barbecuing, fishing, and bushwalking. There are picnic tables and barbecue facilities available, making it an ideal spot for a family outing or gathering with friends. The calm waters of the dam are well-suited for kayaking and canoeing, providing opportunities for water-based adventures. If you are after a good workout and like challenging off road bike rides maybe take the rainbow trail from Pemberton to the Big Brook Dam. The trail starts from Pump hill road on the western side of the creek on the eastern side of the road. Look for the small yellow triangle trail marks with the rainbow serpent logo. It’s about 5.2 km and it took us at least 1 hour on our e-bikes, but we had to push our bikes up most of the steep hilly sections. It was worth it, the bush is beautiful tiger snakes included, and the lovley smooth asphalt path circumnavigating the dam is very nice. There is even a white sand beach with refreshing mountain...

Another lovely stop along the Karri Forest Explorer drive. A beautiful little walk with the fresh scent of trees in the air. Bathrooms available, with a wheelchair friendly stall and also an empty stall with a little bench.

You can continue driving along the unsealed road towards Big Brook Arboretum and then north towards the Big Karri and Channybearup Rd. The unsealed road is mostly very flat and smooth, just a couple of large pothills that you can easily avoid, and a couple bumpy ridges. We were in a lowered 2WD sports car and...

The Campsite at Big Brook Dam is wonderful, only 10 sites can accommodate caravan and motor homes, I'm not sure how many tent sites, sorry to you fine tent people. Drop toilet, unfortunately if you are needing mobile phone service, I had no signal, and I'm with telstra. There were some repair work on the dam, and it was not possible to do the loob. It is all bitumen, so if you are able to push a wheel chair, and know a handicaped person, what a wonderful thing to do.
