We arrived early just before 10am to Bruce welcoming us at the gate on his tractor as we pulled in the driveway. We met Linda and got talking to the both of them with Carl (the friendliest dog ever!) by our side wanting all the pats in the world. We booked the tour with a morning tea and it got underway with Bruce showing us around to the pigs, goats, cows, emu and sheep. It was such a personal experience, like talking with a long lost friend who was so insightful about the workings of the farm, but also his love for each and every animal really made it special. We then went inside to a beautiful old cottage which Linda gave a wonderful tour around, showing us the history of the building and surrounding area. Next came the fresh scones and homemade jam with a beautiful cup of tea. An absolutely lovely experience from people who very clearly love what they do and the animals they own. Recommended to everyone in the area to see the true workings of a farm and how everything interacts with one another. Thanks again Bruce and Linda we will definitely be back to...
Β Β Β Read moreBeautiful place !!! 100/10, it's incredible to see the care and love that the owners have for the animals. We arrived unannounced on a drizzly cool Friday and the owners were busy out the back of the property, but after looking around in the museum house for 15 minutes or so the male owner met with us. We were the only 2 people there and he was extremely generous with his time and polite, spending the next 2-3 hours with us, he was very friendly and attentive to our questions and always explaining everything to us, the animals are in good condition and it is gratifying to see farm animals treated as pets, an amazing place to visitwith family or friends, there is a small museum, full of home antiques, it was interesting to see and feel how life was lived decades ago, really amazing experience, if you are around from mountain Gambier, 100% recommended that you visit this place. I wouldn't expect to get this type of service...
Β Β Β Read moreWe went to echo farm expecting a couple of animals to feed and a speedy exit. Well we were wrong... Damien is a great host to his farm, very knowledgeable, friendly, and a great bloke for a yarn. He has alot of animals, from little chickens to 800kg bulls, with alot in between. We as adult children had a fantastic 4 hour pitstop at echo farm. Some of the highlights were feeding red, the big bull, and the sheep. ( I forgot the big sheeps name ) what a great experience for us. I could only imagine how it would have been if were were 20 years younger! Would definitely recommend this place if visiting Mt Gambier π alot of history in the old farm house too. Will definitely be visiting again next time we are in town. Looking forward to seeing some of the updates he has planned for the future!
Thanks...
