We visited Great Sandy National Park with family, and it was a satisfying experience. The highlight for us was the diversity of landscapes—it’s not just about the sand! The rainforests were refreshing and full of unique wildlife. My kids loved spotting the birds and enjoying the open space for picnics.

The beach area is pristine, and the views of the ocean are amazing. However, accessing some parts was a bit challenging without a proper 4WD vehicle. If you’re planning to go deep into the park, come prepared. Facilities like toilets and picnic spots were clean, which made the visit comfortable.

Overall, it’s a great spot to relax and connect with nature. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area, especially if you’re looking for variety in...

Place hasn’t had any maintenance on facilities or tracks in years despite growing visitor numbers - inland tracks are severely corrugated and overgrown with vegetation (great walk is closed due to the latter) and most of the camp sites have a heady mix of glass and rubbish mixed in with the sand.

Can’t have fires on the beach at all, can’t look around inside the wreck and you’ll be battling traffic on the beach that either won’t keep left or decides parking right across the through way is a great idea.

Between all of that plus the barge trip, access permits, camping fees and charges for showers ($2/3 mins) it’s hard...

Lovely weekend away @Noosaevergladesglamping. HIGHLY reccoment this gem, hidden amongst the Great Sandy National Park. Super affordible, incredible service, fully automatic bathroom, all camping equipment included AND one of very few properties that allow pets in a national park! Feeling VERY refreshed after a weekend switched off and in nature. Cant wait to return! #glamping #airbnb #airbnbfinds #airbnbexperience #noosa #nationalpark #camping #pets #dogsoftiktok

We visited Poverty Point for a weekend of basic survival camping. Beautiful tidal flats and mangroves but midges can be problematic in this spot. No sizable mud crabs found for us (largest 10cm) and while there are fish it's not as abundant as other spots. There are some rock oysters, scallops and other shellfish throughout the mangroves and submerged jetty off the point. Overall a beautiful and typically quiet spot for a weekend getaway, just prepare yourself for a beating by the midges!
