Disappointing visit to DiGiorgio Family Wines. We had a great day doing the walking trail and up until our stop here the wineries had been fab! This was the only winery where we had to book and pay for a tasting. I have no issue paying, however, I expect a level of service. Really no explanation from the female server other than to tick the 5 wines we wanted to try and return her the sheet. After pouring the wines our paddle was left on the bench for us to pick up to take back to our seats. We were the only people in the place, it wouldn't have hurt to bring them to our table and explain each. No information on the winery, the wines, how the tasting fee might be deducted from bottles being bought. It was terrible and such a let down after our previous great experiences. We decided to buy 1 bottle and were asking "only 1?!". At all other wineries we spent over $150, here $35 and even then I was hesitant to do that. I wouldn't return and wouldn't buy their wine after...
Read moreDisappointing service, there were no description/explaination to the wine being served. We were just being poured the wine and left. What's worse is that we were given plastic glasses. There were we no change in glassware when we requested for the Tawny.
Meanwhile when I went inside, other customers seem to have all their wine in a paddle and had explanation for what they were getting. I was even given the disappointed tone when I said I did not want to purchase any wine (wine was very average anyways). We could have just left without paying but I was taught better than that.
Stark contrast to the other wineries that we have been to. I hope this is not because we were the only Asian couple around. I found a similar review with another Asian...
Read moreWorst tasting experience ever! I felt so embarrassed about this “Australian” wine experience. No wine tasting narration, you need to pick 6 from a list to taste and do the tasting on your own. We really appreciate how the pourer usually engages about the wine. Inhospitable, grumpy and actually rude when one person asked if the restaurant next door made coffee. Took family and friends who were visiting from overseas and only had limited time to visit wineries on a drive South. We’re only a very small group so there was no reason to be left to fend for ourselves. Cold and uncomfortable environment where other wineries like Wyns just next door are so warm and inviting. Just to note... I don’t usually leave reviews but this one just...
