This place is a hidden treasure. Short drive off of the highway. If you don’t have a lot of time there is a very short board Walk that offers a good view of the wetlands. Toilets and maps are available at the car park. Walk around the wetlands on the mowed track and parts of board walks and there is a bird hide on the other side. Inside is information about the birds seen in the wetlands. There is also a walk up to a low set lookout which offers surprisingly nice views of the surrounding areas. There is also a rain forest loop track which is worth a look. Take mozzie spray, sun screen and a hat and water bottle. Not many people come here so often you could be the only person there. The wetlands was decimated through the drought and sadly was badly damaged through the black summer bush fires. But you would not know that now. Nature has well and truely healed herself and she is ready for everyone to...

This is a great example of restored wetlands. The council have done an excellent job in re-establishing the health of the wetlands and giving well maintained access to them. The main loop walk takes you through a range of environments and enables good views of the extensive birdlife, as well as some of the insect life. However, be warned - mosquitoes make up a significant number of the insects! So many in fact that we were unable to enjoy the wetlands because we were eaten alive. We did heed the warnings on the website, wore long pants and long sleeve shirts, etc, covered ourselves in mosquito repellent. But it was not enough. After running around the main loop in about 25 minutes we gave up, and left, driven out by the little blighters. Perhaps leave visiting these wetlands until the middle of winterwhen, hopefully, the mosquito population will be...

Fantastic wetlands with probably the best birdhide I've seen with views and seating at different heights. It's a 2.2k walk and add another klm if you also do the outlook loop. There is a picnic table near the carpark and seating along the route and at the viewing platform out into the water. If wanting to head straight to the birdhide, turn right at the flushing toilets near the carpark. Be prepared for lots of mosquitoes atm with it being so wet, but a fantastic time to see the water lilies in flower, nice boardwalks and...

Wonderful conservation area. The boardwalks that cover nearly half of the way around the wetland walk are well maintained but can be a little slippery in wet weather. The remainder of the walk is on grass tracks that are very well maintained. Be aware in summer it is a wetland and the mosquitoes are fierce so be prepared for that. The bird hide is on the far side of the wetland from the carpark and is very well appointed with multiple viewing portals and seats that can be moved around. Any bird lover could spend many hours here.

Easy walk of 2.2km of the wetlands loop. Beautiful views of the Water lily pond was breathtaking view. It’s a huge swamp covered from flowers and it smelled heavenly. Huge eucalyptus trees and different native trees are located everywhere. Wearing water resistant shoes is recommended as path is wet in some places. A map can be obtained from the cupboard near Carpark bill board. It helped to identify different places of the wetland.

Wonderful little spot. It's a quick walk around the wetlands and there is a bird hut on the south side which is really well done with windows at multiple heights. Hopefully they put another hut in somewhere else in the wetlands to give another vantage point. Highly recommend you wear clothing that covers you well, the mosquitos are numerous and as big as sandflies. Toilets located at the front entrance.
