Beautiful island with eerily abandoned resort that is fenced in a rag tag manner dotted with “ private keep out” warning signs. The walking tracks aren’t well maintained or sign posted and the beach absolutely stinks of rotting sea animal - no other beach in the Whitsundays smells like this. It’s almost as if this is a deliberate tactic to deter yacht visitors. We had to retreat over to Carlisle Island for a swim and beach time due to the stench.

Out of all the islands I have visited Daydream, Heron and Hamilton this island would be pick of the bunch. Such a shame such a beautiful piece of paradise is not up and running as a resort for us to go back there....

Asked my now Wife of 23 years to marry me there. Pitty the resort is now not maintained and now abandoned. Would have loved to take my wife back there for our 25 wedding...
