We recently visited several vineyards along the Tasman Hwy between Swansea and Bicheno and enjoyed our experience at Spring Vale Wines. This is a historic vineyard with a quaint indoor wine tasting experience with a bit of history sharing for those with interest. Opening hours are 11am to 4pm daily. On the day, we were particularly interested in their Pinot Noir and tasted several all of which were quite good. We purchased bottle of the Spring Vale 2022 Estate Pinot Noir which was very much enjoyed with dinner that evening. It is a good serious Red with a smooth finish. All in all, had a very good experience and would intentionally return here if doing the rounds in this area of Tasmania again to purchase another bottle or two.

We were driving to the beautiful Freycinet National Park and along the drive appeared a very familiar name. Having worked as a Sommelier, Springvale is on my top go to everyday wines. Most people only talk about their “Melrose” Pinot Noir but trust me, you have to try their Gewurtzraminer (both table and dessert wine). If you love Asian food, this is the perfect wine right here. PS if you are driving a low slung exotic, you would need to creep along as the entrance drive is all stone/gravel and about a mile to the cellar door. Just get a bottle of the Louisa and you will thank me!

We stopped at this cute tasting room while driving the East Coast and had the best time chatting with Neil. Loved all the wine particularly the sparkling, sauv blanc and rosé. We live in one of the wine regions of California and the wine is full of additives here. Not only does Spring Vale wine taste great but it also doesn't give you such a terrible headache the next day... Wish our wineries had similar winemaking practices.

It's hard to know where to start, the winery and tasting area is low key and very inviting, so relaxing and a lovely place to be. We dropped in without a booking and were made more than welcome by a friendly and very knowledgeable staff member. We left with a couple of cases of fantastic reds and have since bought several more. It really is worth calling into these smaller, more personal wineries as they are what Tasmania is all about. We are mainlanders, we had an amazing time in Tasmania, Springvale was one of...
