I've been wanting to do Astrophotography here for a while and finally got around to doing it. Although, I was a little disappointed.
Firstly, the lighthouse is in an awkward position when trying to catch the Milky Way Core rising. Secondly, the light is extremely bright, much more than expected. Thirdly, it's always very hazy here due to sea mist.
Although I did enjoy the very dark Bortle 2 skies and had phone reception with 4G the whole time.
If you're willing to give this lighthouse a go under the stars at night, just be aware of the pattern from the light. It flashes twice over a 4 second period and is off for another 6 seconds.
Recommended shutter speed is either 5 or 6 seconds and an overall 10 second...

We packed a picnic lunch and highly recommend you do too. The picnic table, although old, was perfect for our lunch and the view was really spectacular.
We were lucky enough to be the only ones here, and so we really took our time with exploring all it had to offer.

Looking north you can see Crowdy Bay Beach and the marina, east you have the cliffs, south gives you a stellar view of Harrington Beach coastline and finally west overlooks the Crowdy Bay National Park.
