What an amazing little tucked away place. What a welcoming greeting and hug my wife and I received by the elderly lady who is one of the volunteers there. Our little Doggy was welcome to walk around with us. So much local history along with some rather impressive memorabilia. Most of the Displays and rooms felt very normal till we got to one of the cottages with a static display depicting a Bedroom from a bygone era. My little Dog looked up strangely then went close to one of the night pots on the floor by the bed has a sniff the immediately backed off as though it was told off. Turning to my wife I noticed she went a little pale in the face. For sure there was some one other then just the 3 of us in that room. Mindful of the unknown we were very respectful of our presence as guest in another person's house and backed away then carried on enjoying the other displays on offer. To all you volunteers a Big Thank you. You all do an amazing job.

Absolutely wonderful place to visit, $10 per Adult (EFTPOS available) takes a good hour to get around, some amazing memorabilia perfect for young and old. Was greeted by a lovely lady who provided excellent guidance to get around. Highly recommended if you in the area, will return and bring family and friends to explore in the near future.

Absolutely amazing exhibits. And the sweetest most lovely volunteers you'll ever meet. Passionate and knowledgeable, I've never met anyone like Elaine who makes you feel so welcome immediately!

Huge disparate collection of old to very old tractors, stationary engines, lawnmowers, agricultural machinery, a few vintage vehicles, and lots of old bicycles hanging from the rafters.

Comprehensive housed displays of tools, implements, oddments of pioneering life include a telephone exchange board, a collection of vintage cameras, a piano, record players, typewriters - you name it, it's there.

A refurbished residence of 1920's vintage includes furniture, fittings that depict life of the era, can be walked through at leisure.

None of the stationary engines, nor any of the machinery has been restored to working order. To do so would take massive investment of time, expertise and money. Basically it is all just sitting there, gathering rust and dust.

Overpriced at...

If you want to see an outback museum about pioneer life then don't miss this one. They have everything. It was uncrowded, in fact we were the only ones there, and consisted of many separate buildings with all sorts of displays from old schoolrooms, old houses, machinery of all shapes and sizes. There's hairdresser displays, medical, telephony, crafts and much more. Well laid out and best of all you can wander about at your leisure without any pesky guides having to explain each and every exhibit. Well worth a look. If you are interested enough to be touring the outback then you'll definitely find things that will...
