The ridge is a beautiful place to walk your dog so close to the City Its tempting to want to take your dog off lead but don't as fleeing kangaroos run the risk of becoming road kill, the reserve is a relatively narrow nature strip flanked by busy Gungahlin Drive to the West and Dryandra St at its East. The Kangaroos are tame enough that you can get relatively close and there is an array of exotic Australian birds. Great views to the city and beyond and if you do walk your dog you might cross Fairfax St at the Southern end to the Inner North Dog Park for a puppy social and...

A seldom walked Ridgeway above Lyneham with some occasional vistas over the northern inner Canberra. Quiet enough to have a kangaroo mob. Lots of trails for bikes on the Western slope to Belconnen. Be wary, the area has a few brown snakes that like to laze on the tracks when...

The walk is relatively easy with only a few inclines. Unfortunately some tracks aren't very well marked, however it is easy to find another track to get you around. It's all dirt, no paved areas so could become muddy if there was a bit of rain. Also not a lot of shade...
