Dangar Falls, located approximately 2 kilometers north of Dorrigo in New South Wales, is a picturesque 30-meter waterfall nestled amidst lush agricultural and dairy farmland. Easily accessible via Coramba Road, the site offers a range of amenities to enhance your visit.
Upon arrival, visitors will find a car park with picnic tables, providing a convenient spot to relax before exploring. A short, well-maintained walking trail leads to a viewing platform that offers stunning vistas of the cascading falls. This platform is easily accessible, making it suitable for visitors of all ages and mobility levels.
For those seeking a closer experience, a walking trail descends to the base of the waterfall, culminating in a natural swimming hole. The trail is approximately 1 kilometer round trip and is considered an easy walk. However, the final approach involves navigating rocky terrain, which can be slippery, especially after rain. Caution is advised, and appropriate footwear is recommended.
Swimming at the base of Dangar Falls is a popular activity, offering a refreshing experience amidst the serene surroundings. However, it's important to heed safety warnings, as there have been incidents in the past due to submerged rocks and strong currents. Diving or jumping from the falls is strictly prohibited.
The area is equipped with picnic facilities, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely lunch while enjoying the natural beauty. The combination of accessible viewing platforms, the option for a short hike to the base, and the opportunity to swim makes Dangar Falls a worthwhile destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike.

Read moreTwo hours drive from Grafton which the drive itself is quiet nice. You will encounter distinctly different flora to what's more commonly seen further south closer to Sydney and that's a very refreshing change . Once you arrive at the car park you have a very easy walk down to get to the waterfall. A pro tip for beginners who want to visit waterfalls with their family is to always keep the fact that they have to walk all the way back up and sometimes it could pose a big challenge. But the good news is the walkway to and back from Dangar fall has a very gentle slope. The waterfall itself is perhaps not the most jawdroppping waterfall but certainly the seclusion and the surrounding nature makes it a worthwhile trip. There's a nice sitting area in front of it which you can picnic there for hours or if you feel like a swim, it's a very short swim to get under the waterfall and have your insta pics . Be warned though, the middle section is fairly deep and there's a moderate current away from the waterfall so if you're not confident in your swimming skills best to enjoy it from afar or swim around near the edges ( bring mindful of the rocks under water) to make your way to the waterfall. There's a nice river that follows after it which if you feel adventurous you can follow or even cross to get to the other side. I would check local warnings about possible snakes though. In short, a very enjoyable and worthwhile day trip if you are...
