As residents of the Adelaide Hills, we are often spoilt for choice when it comes to wineries offering dining. So you can only imagine how stoked we were to find Scotchmans Hills during our visit to Geelong's and it's surroundings. The first thing you'll notice upon arrival is vast views that even boasts a stunning panorama of Melbourne city. Our server Abbie was the perfect example of a hospitality tripple threat hahaha. With thorough wine knowledge, sincere customer focus and an overall enthusiasm for her job, Abbie was a fundamental reason for why our day was so wonderful. When it came to food & wine, our table didn't hold back. With Bubbles, Chardonnay and Museum release 2006 Pinot flowing freely, Scotchmans Hills vino had our pallets singing. The Chefs offerings did what amazing cuisine should do at a winery, and that is compliment and lift the notes the wine maker worked so hard to develop. We can't say enough about our time spent here. It is a day our family won't soon forget. Thank you Tim & Team

We had a very enjoyable lunch here mid-week. The venue is very well set up for dining as well as wine tasting. The dining area is al fresco with a covered roof that lets through filtered light and some tables also have umbrellas if the sun is too intense. there are no walls and the breeze from the bays is pleasingly refreshing. The service is good and the staff friendly. We ate Atlantic salmon kibbeh, with Smokey Baba Ghanoush, Pomegranate, La Boquera Chorizo, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Soft Pita. / Lakes Entrance scallops with Herb Crumb, Wasabi, Aioli and Green Apple Slaw./ these were followed by a salad of smoked duck breast with crisp pancetta, mixed leaves, macadamia nut, puy lentils, Orange and horseradish kewpie mayo , and flash fried seared calamary with fregola, cherry tomato, green olives, confit garlic and roquette, The duck was outstanding

My wife and I celebrated our 62nd Wedding Anniversary on 26th December 2021 with lunch at the Bistro. This was the first opportunity to visit Scotchmans Hill and we were thoroughly delighted with everything - spectacular views, excellent service, delicious and well presented food. On Sundays, a special ‘Feed Me’ 3 course share lunch is served. Although we were a bit uncertain how we would fare with a set menu, the very well presented first course reassured us. We enjoyed the well prepared fresh local produce and we went on to thoroughly enjoy the other two courses. Beautifully cooked - the calamari was about the best we can recall eating! We both enjoy cool climate wines and the Scotchmans Hill Pinot Gris was superb. The staff were professional, attentive and pleasant. Ruth, the Chef and all those we saw are exemplary.

I had booked in for the bistro in the Residence, I had received an email couple days after that the reservation was changed to bistro only but didn't think much of it. Gorgeous day and set up at the winery we were seated outside. When asked to do wine tasting with our lunch lady told me it was only in the cellar door. I told her I originally booked for inside which she said they had a function so couldn't do it but gave us the option to have it after lunch. We agreed, we finished our lunch at 3.51pm (our booking was 2.15pm). We then asked to do the tasting which waitress said she would have to ask. A man came out from the cellar door to tell us he was closing at 4pm and he could do it for us outside where we were seated. It sounded like such an annoyance to him but we said thank you that would be good. Mind you we weren't the only people there and noticed couple of tables still inside the cellar door. Instead of pouring the wines for us and explaining them etc like you normally would get he explained one then the rest he just showed us the label on bottle, announced the wine and left. Was left to feel like we were a burden and an annoyance. Shouldn't have changed the booking on me without notifying me prior as the whole reason we booked was to do tastings and then to not be told what time they closed would have made us not take such a leisurely time on lunch. Food was average, dessert was okay also. Got charged for extra crackers as bread....

Went to your winery with a group of friends on the weekend and I can’t begin to say how badly I and another friend was treated. A group of 5 did a tasting and I was the designated driver so chose to have a coffee instead. Only to be told I was not allowed to sit with my group and had to go out to the restaurant for a coffee, There I was told very rudely that you don’t serve tea or coffee and I mentioned my situation and that I was the responsible driver , then to be told very abruptly that this is a winery not a coffee shop. It is my view and all of the group with me, that surely you as a winery you should look after people such as myself being responsible and letting my friends drink and purchase wine after a tasting that you could surely take care of the non drinkers . in the past I have been to many wineries and have always been able to purchase a tea or coffee and been treated very nicely and with respect, unlike your winery My friends were unaware of my situation and would have chose to leave if they were aware of how badly myself and friend was treated. We purchased several hundred dollars of wine between us, and it might be in your best interest in future to be more respectful to the designated drivers and none drinkers. Very...

I really enjoyed our visit Scotchmans Hill. We had a tasting which was as a tasting experience should be, in my opinion. We sat at our own table and were looked after by a very engaging man whose name I unfortunately cannot recall. When at our table he gave us his undivided attention, as he did with the other guests at other tables. This personalised the experience beautifully. The Wines were very good and myself and my friends all purchased. I intended to take the wines back to NSW with me but unfortunately, only one bottle of Shiraz made it back from my holiday! The building itself is beautiful and I loved being surrounded by the stone and wood. The view from the big windows also beautiful. The interior size of the building lends itself to an intimate experience, perfect for those who do not wish to be surrounded by a large crowd of people. We enjoyed the charcuterie board and I am looking forward to returning in May when I am again in Drysdale. I have now joined the Friends of Scotchmans Hill and will be purchasing also on line. The perfect place for a relaxed experience, sophisticated without pretension in my book-as you can tell from this...
