Excellent value for money. We (my boyfriend and I) originally booked for two nights but ended up extending by an extra two. We were given a very warm welcome and found a good spot at the very well organised site. All individual sites are close to amenities and there are two big barns, one with a big communal firepit and one with an open wall backing out onto the forest. Even better was the wildlife feeding that Ron does every evening and there were loads of possums, pademelons and wallabies!! Ron is so personable and really gets the kids involved, it’s great to see as everyone learns to much by seeing the animals up close. As well as this awesome wildlife experience, there is a lovely walking track down to the river, where we saw lots of platypus! It was such a great experience and one of the best we’ve had in our time travelling up the east coast. The facilities were always clean and there was a great atmosphere across the camp - we got chatting with lots of other campers! If you’re planning to stay the area, this is not to be missed!

We had an absolutely fantastic time exploring the area along the Barron River. The abundance of wildlife made it a memorable experience for the whole family. The possum feeding was a standout moment—such a treat for the kids to interact with these curious little creatures in a safe and respectful way. One of the highlights was the platypus spotting—almost guaranteed if you take a quiet walk along the riverbank. It’s rare to see these elusive animals in the wild, and we were lucky enough to watch them swimming and diving in their natural habitat. The setting is peaceful, the trails are well-maintained, and the whole experience feels like a hidden gem. Highly recommended for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to enjoy a slice of Queensland’s unique wildlife.

The owners were lovely the concept is great. The wildlife viewing at night was very interesting. We asked if it was ok to light the fire in the communal shed and play our ukelele (2) and were assured it was fine. At 7.30 we had a permanent resident who stupidly set himself up right beside the communal shed come and bang on the rubbish bin lid and tell us to keep it down as it was “booming through the park” and nobody could get any rest. This simply wasn’t true, but his rudeness and language spoiled our stay. We explained the event to the owners on leaving and suggested they move permanent residents down the other end of the park. Whilst apologetic they suggested if the permanent resident didn’t like the noise he shouldn’t set up there. It really is their role to move them into a location where they don’t spoil the experience of guests. We like them and the concept but would have to think twice about going back due to the ignorance...

Wow! I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. This place is an absolute must if you're passing through or stopping in the area! Such an amazing animal sanctuary where you can feed possums and wallabies daily. Over generations the owners here have taken care of the beautiful animals on this land and now they've become gentle and friendly. This was such an unexpected and amazing experience. The owners are so lovely and in the evenings they offer fruits to feed the animals in a designated area in the camp accomodations. Trust me, you can't miss this unique and wonderful time! On top of this you can also spot plytapus in the river! We were able to spot two on the river diving for food in the morning. Such a peaceful and lovely sanctuary. Camp amenities were great! Truly can't say enough good things about...
