The tower itself and their lookouts were gorgeous. Lovely outlooks into Twofold bay. Having traveled this lovely country it is always so upsetting to see how often you must pay some form of a fee to see these wonderful bits of nature. And what was provided was a parking spot. It seems in my travels only the National Parks seem to charge a fee for everything. It’s not right to capitalise upon nature and sell it as product. These things should be free and accessible to all people. Perhaps if they charge fees for upkeep of these places they should not have so many parks. Perhaps they need to hand over parks back to State Forests and such so National Parks can upkeep what they have and then people can access these places for free. Nature and its wonders should not be dictated by how much...

Fee for being in this park is only $8 for the whole day (this helps to maintain and or build in the national park, it also covers the whole of the national park). Toilets are also available for anyone and everyone (and yes they are drop dunnies but they do the job and are clean with running water for washing hands). Oh and I forgot don't forget to bring your camera as there is quite a few stunning views...

We also went to the old Davidson whaling station nearby, which was totally worth the drive along 4 km's of dirt track to get to. If you do go to the whaling station, be sure to take some insect repellent with you, as we all got bitten (a lot) by sand flies on the small beach near the cottage. It was still worth seeing though, so don't let the sand flies put you off...
