Read moreI asked the woman at the desk about Derby and one of the questions was is Derby a safe place and she was very quick to answer "yes!" I said, "because Fitzroy crossing isn't!" She said "I beg your pardon?" I repeated it and she became quite perturbed at me and "yes it is!" I said well there was a high security warning at the Fitzroy river lodge. People have been getting broken into and getting their cars stolen. The police were there several times while I was there. She said "well none of that would happen if people keep everything locked up." She was very indifferent (not friendly to me) after that. Every time you need to go to the toilet at night you have to lock up. Well I'm here to tell EVERYONE that fitzroy is a perfectly safe place just so long as you do the right thing and keep everything locked up 24/7. That means locking up all your outside storage compartments too. Make sure you tourists do the right thing now...
Read moreThe 3 Staff were obviouly wanting to go home and didn't care about our desire to book the Geike Gorge tour as their tour was full. They told us they don't book the National Parks tour which was available and to book it ourselves. As we didn't have Cell reception their suggestion/help🤣 was for us to book when we get our accommodation's WiFi. They certainly didn't provide the helpful service provided by other info centres. Yet Ben from the caravan park resort helped us book the cruise over and above his role....
