Beautifully unexpected. Exposed lookout with magnificent views of the Flinders Ranges. About 20km from the Wilpena Pound Resort on the Bunyeroo Gorge road. The road is gravel, corrugated and rocky in places but does not require a high clearance vehicle. Highly recommended. The lookout is signposted on the crest of the hill. There is no facilities here, no toilets or picnic table or benches. However there are several places further along this scenic drive where you can stop at a picnic table and the views are just a magnificent.

Driving in the gorge and this lookout are definitely the highlights of the area! We were driving with our 4x4 with a RTT on it and was very smooth. We saw some small cars do it, but it may take some time then. It’s quite close to the campground and if you’re coming from the east you can do it easily and fast, coming from the west and through the gorge it is bit rough. We thought we will spend 1 or 2 hours driving the loop, spend around 4 or 5 hours, doing heaps of stops and pictures.

To get here you need to drive 30-40 minutes on unsealed road. So make sure your car is up to the task! It’s a popular lookout but there isn’t really a proper car park. You just stop at the top of a ledge, just need to find space for your car. If you don’t have a high clearance car, turn back and return the way you came. If you continue on there are sections where water has flooded the road and you’ll get stuck.
