Last week, my friends and I embarked on another hiking adventure, tackling both the Lesmurdie Falls and Whistlepipe Gully trails in Forrestfield. The 8km journey was made even more enjoyable by the beautiful weather and stunning scenery. However, we did notice a significant number of Eucalyptus trees suffering from a disease that's causing them to die.

The trail was moderate in difficulty, with the exception of the final 200 meters, which featured a challenging steep uphill climb to reach the top of the waterfalls. A word of warning: the parking lots can get very busy, especially the top one near the falls, so be prepared for crowds.

After completing our hike, we stopped by the newly renovated Hale Tavern, which was a great way to cap off the day. The food was glorious, and the pint of beer was well-deserved after our exertions. If you're looking for a scenic hike with a rewarding finish, I highly recommend combining these two trails and following it up with a visit to the Hale Tavern. Just be sure to get there early to...

Enjoyed the walk and the views are beautiful but I felt it could do with a few more arrow signs as there's parts where it gets a little confusing and my daughter and I got a little lost. Also there is an Acrod bay in the car park when the walk trail clearly is not for people with a physical disability. I'm not being discriminative just realistic and the car park could do with a toilet and maybe some picnic tables because the amount of water my daughter and I drank we needed the toilet when returning back to the car. Just a few Suggestions for the city of Kalamunda to consider. Otherwise the...

It's a lovely trek with lush green surroundings throughout the trek. The river is at its full glory in winters. The river runs pretty much alongside your path throughout the trek, which is lovely to watch and hear. The trek offers a nice view of the city too from a point. It's a circular track with a fairly easy to walk path. There's an elevation at the beginning but it's all downhill on the way back. My senior citizens parents were able to walk this one. Recommend bringing water and some food to refuel yourself if required. It has a nice spot to sit and enjoy a waterfall with...

We came here chasing waterfalls after a day of heavy rain. What a magical spot, it certainly did not disappoint. So much exploring to be done along the creek which was bursting and bubbling along at a rapid rate. We took to the loop trail in a clockwise direction, there were some sections that were muddy/loose rocks/steep path but overall pretty easy going. A group of kids were having the best time constructing a bridge over the water. Lots of beautiful blue flowers to remind us we are in the middle of Makuru season. We look forward to coming back in spring to go wildflower spotting!
