The carpark was under construction so it was a bit hard to get in. the beach itself was interesting. The undulating area between the carpark and the beach seemed like sand but was made from broken shells. It was quite interesting to run through. The shell area is by the water. You can see the sand at the waters edge and the shells just piling on top of it as you head away. The water was quite calm and a bit cold. The beach is very long though. It seemed to go on forever along the water. There was an area that seemed to be fenced off in the distance. We were there on an overcast day so it wasn't the best...

Loved it. Only a short drive off main road, to a nice free car park (separate cars from bigger vehicles).

Beach has toilets, & covered information boards on the cockles & area incl the fencing of the park & eradication of feral species.

Only a short walk to large wide & long beach with plenty of room to spread out. The cockles are close to the waters edge & it is quite amazing.

Swimming is fantastic - water nice temp, crystal clear, shallow & due to high salinity very buoyant.

No water so expect to head off salty to your next stop.

Make sure...

The entire beach is made up of tiny white shells, stretching for kilometers and creating an almost surreal landscape. The water is calm, clear, and perfect for a peaceful swim or just soaking in the serene surroundings. It’s a quiet, uncrowded spot ideal for relaxing, walking, or photography. If you’re exploring Shark Bay, Shell Beach is an absolute must-see. A natural wonder that leaves a...

A beautiful beach - crystal clear water and plenty of space. As the name suggests, the beach is comprised of small cockle shells. Plenty of free parking is available and only a short walk to the beach. Toilet facilities are also available just off the parking area. During wetter months (I.e. June-August) sandflies can be abundant, so have bug repellent on hand.
