Wineglass Bay is one of the most popular attractions in Tasmania, located in the Freycinet National Park on the east coast. It is famous for its stunning crescent-shaped beach, turquoise water and white sand. To enjoy the best view of Wineglass Bay, you can hike up to the lookout, which is about 1.5 km from the car park. The trail is well-maintained and has steps, but it is also steep and can be challenging for some people. The hike to the bay takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your fitness level and pace. Once you reach the lookout, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of the bay and the surrounding mountains. You can also continue down to the beach, which is another 3 km from the lookout, or do a longer circuit that includes Hazards Beach. Wineglass Bay is a must-see for anyone visiting Tasmania, as it offers a unique natural beauty and a relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing place! Worth the hike, which is a lovely wide track with some steps. The view is even more awesome than it looks in pictures, and the different lookout levels are so well thought out. Hike down to the beach is tough on (older) knees and the hike back up likewise is a slow and steady one unless you’re young and fit, but again, totally worth it. I went on a Saturday and the car park was really busy but once you start walking the crowds thin out. Superbly maintained tracks and signage. No water after car park so take plenty with you (water available outside car park toilets). If you want to swim, BE CAREFUL! There is an undertow and a strong swell with big waves. I went to the other end of the beach which is more sheltered and calmer.

Absolutely paradise! The beach is stunning and such an amazing walk to the beach from the carpark, stopping off at the lookout beforehand. There's an additional beach if you continue walking, but most people seem to stop at the first one (which is quite long and very spacious). There's no facilities given how remote it is, so bring plenty of water and plan ahead. The water is crystal clear and it was refreshing to swim in with the hot summer weather. This beach and the Freycinet area is an absolute must when visiting Tasmania!
