Cape Horn Lookout sits atop a rugged hill and offers panoramic views of the Goulburn River Valley and surrounding ranges. On a clear day, you can see rolling hills, farmland, bushland, and even the distant Great Dividing Range.

What to expect: • Unsealed roads: The road leading up to the lookout is gravel/dirt, so drive cautiously. It’s best accessed by 4WD or a car with decent clearance—especially after rain. • Short walk from parking: You’ll walk a few hundred metres from the car park to the lookout point. • No facilities: No toilets or shops nearby, so bring water and snacks. • Peaceful & quiet: Often you’ll have the place all to yourself—perfect for a peaceful picnic or some quiet reflection time.

This is a beautiful spot for lunch, or just a break if you're on the road in Gippsland.

The views from the west around to the northeast go forever, although you can't see Loch itself because there's a low hill between the two places.

One thing to watch for - it's windy! Expect the temperature to be a few degrees cooler than in Loch, and be prepared to hold onto your food if you're sitting at one of the...

Such a beautiful spot. We regularly head to one of the Cafes in town and if there's no seats available will get takeaway and sit here. It's at the top of an amazing valley overlooking Loch and the surrounding area. Quiet spot with very few visitors. There a picnic table...
