Great hike to Mount Bishop Summit.
Took 2 hours return at reasonably leisurely pace with our child. Initially apprehensive as rated as a ‘hard’ trek but actually was quite pleasant. Certainly quite a few 7-10 year olds made it easily around the time we did, including our own who didn’t even feel exhausted in the end! There were benches to rest at places. We saw some parents with infants and toddlers in hand/back making it all the way to the top.
Just to be careful with some of the tree roots coming out of ground on trek route partially posing risk of foot getting caught up and potentially a fall (which did happen with us while coming down but fortunately not much damages).
The spectacular view from top is so well worth the efforts. Highly...
Read moreGreat hike, much more enjoyable and interesting than Mt Oberon and the views are spectacular over Tidal River Campground, Squeaky Beach and Whisky Bay. At no point was it particularly steep or difficult, it took me about 1 hour up to the summit and that was with several stops to admire the scenery and wildlife, and to usher a tiger snake off the track. Would recommend hiking boots due to snakes and lots of rocks and tree roots, but it is doable in a good pair of runners. Just make sure they have good grip and you watch your step! As per other reviews there is a large granite rock that looks out across beautiful green scenery - but this is not the summit. Keep going across the rock and follow the track...
Read moreWe took the hike through the Lilly Pilly Gully trail to Mt Bishop. It was a good hike. About 7Km and took us around 4 hrs with return. The path is well built and not a very steap or a climbing hike. If you want to hike only the Mt Bishop, you can take the other route to the left of the car park which is about 2 hrs with return. You can enjoy the chirping of the crickets along the way. The walking trak start straight from the car park. The view is breath taking. Take a good amount of water and tropical insect...
