It's crazy to think how close the Gold Coast is to such amazing trails and mountains. Yes the beach is what it's known for but to be a small drive away from Apple Tree and Springbrook is a godsend. I highly recommend this place if you're into trail running or just keen to explore nature. Plenty of stairs and it'll lead into some pretty epic waterfalls! I've been a few times now and it gets better every time!

Our starting place of our first hike to the Woonoongoora walkers camp which was just a beautiful stay. Quite steep walk but so much to appreciate on the way and so worth it both ways.

A stunning hike through bushland to a secret camping ground. Peaceful and splendid surroundings. Lot's of stairs coming down that need to be climbed up to ascend.

Handy stop - the toilets are clean. There is a bbq (that works as at 28/05/24) the other spot further up the bbq's weren't working. There is one under cover table. Its not the most peaceful place to have a picnic because of the traffic, but its...

good spot for free overnight parking if you’re not scared of the dark, toilets are bare minimum but do the trick, super dark and quiet, nice location if you’re heading to the national parks, close to gorgeous...
