AUSTRALIA DAY spent here. Was the best Australia Day! We had a bbq by the rockpools. Many covered shelters with seating. Two gas bbqs. Then enjoyed a great day languishing and swumming in the sparkling rock pools. Sit under the falls. It's like a mini spa bath or just laze in the shallow rock pools up higher up the creek. A huge water pool is also at Rockpools with lots of kids/adults jumping from rock face into the pool/ Lagoon(this isnt allowed as lots of hidden rocks under water. A few people have sadly died from jumping into the rock pools and many have been injured, so i would strongly advise not to jump or dive in from rocks into the lagoon below. There are warning signs not to jump but sadly these signs are ignored). However it's a great place. Suits everyone of all ages. Concrete tracks to rockpools. Toilets and disabled toilet. Lots of grassy flat areas to lay out a picnic rug. Highly recommended! Guaranteed beautiful...
Read moreThe rock pools are as safe as can be expected of a natural watercourse, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Currumbin Valley. A wonderful respite from the heat, with wonderful small waterfalls perfect for a natural massage. The main pool is deep for the most part, and there are shallows suitable for younger children to enjoy.
The usual precautions are recommended. Watch other swimmers, check the water for underwater obstructions and debris before entering, swimming, and especially before diving. Never ever dive in headfirst. Please keep watchful eye on your minors/children, and friends whom may have become intoxicated.
There are public toilets, undercover tables, electric BBQs, and limited parking available provided by council. Accessible access, seating, toilet, and parking is also available.
There is a public payphone across the road, and a cafe, though I have yet to see it...
Read moreGreat spot for a quiet dip in the fresh water on a hot day. Sit in the stream with the cool water flowing over you or swim in the pool, kids and adults jumping of the south rock ledges into the pond but I'd say they frequent this area as they knew where to jump in. Very deep in the middle and rock faces drop away quite steeply, close around the picnic area is shallow and still water for younger kids to play. Lots of grassed areas and covered picnic tables available as well. There are turtles and eels but generally will hide away while people are...
