The Water works gates were open to the property , when I visited but the actual museum has limited opening hours. Only on specific special events once a year. Its looked after by volunteers from a Goulburn men's group . Parking is available and as you enter the top half of the property there is a charming old house with a generous cotrage garden. Very well maintained. When I visited the Pink Cosmos were being visited by lots of bee's and butterflies. Lots of other flowers were visually attractive. The grounds are well looked after and lots of space for walking , picnicing as long as you bring your own lunch . The river catchment stretches passed the whole property and is stunning and calming. Old Willows, a Golden Elm, gumtrees, Pine tree's, lots of other tree's shrubs encase the grounds so there is shade to walk under and enjoy which have been planted along time ago making the space very welcoming. There is a small children play space also . Lots to see and enjoy. An asset...

It's free to visit the waterworks building and museum. The interior of the museum is not big , but it is fascinating, and our guide was extremely knowledgeable . There is just so much to learn. If you visit out of peak periods, when you walk up to the water works museum there is a buzzer you can press that will call a guide who will come to meet you and give you the option of a tour. This is what we did when we saw the building was closed There is a free carpark here and a beautifully maintained garden, with benches throughout were you can sit and take in the scenery. Wheelchair accessible parking and entry, plus bathrooms which are wheelchair accessible as well At the entry of the water works is a lovely picnic area with BBQ grills and tables,...

Being out of town visitors we stumbled upon this location. We first saw a sign leading to an overflow carpark and in my ignorance I literally said “why does this place need an overflow carpark?”. i was really mistaken because of historical and natural sites are your cup of tea, this was an absolutely amazing visit. our guide Mark, was AMAZING. he was so knowledgeable, truly passionate, and so kind to me and my family as he walked us through the building. he made me whole day seeing the love for this place radiate off him. the garden was beautifully maintained and everything was so clean and lovely. my family and i left this place so enriched with knowledge and in awe and wonder about the magnificence...

This is an amazing historical site to behold in Goulburn, set on the banks of the picturesque Wollondilly River at Marsden Weir. We were greeted with a friendly volunteer and it was great to get to know more about the history of this place! We were told they run the pump a few times a year so you can get the opportunity to see it in running order as well. There is also a nice picnic area onsite by the water. “Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.
