Mt Beckworth is a fair sized area covered with several walking trails. Today I did the Mt Beckworth scenic drive tho turned into a walk. Road not suitable for a domestic car, 4wd only. Ok most of way then there's these deep ruts turn up. Was a lovely walk tho, only a km of winding track. Mostly good with a few inclines. For me this place is beautiful, I love Australian bush. Interspersed with interesting boulders and little crops of banksia n brackets. Pretty vistas from the higher ground. Lots of wildlife, birds butterflies. We walked up the steep ‘Feldspar Track’ to the summit and back down to/from Cork Oaks visitor area, which conveniently has drop toilets. Feldspar track, per the signs, is 1km to the summit, doubling that to return to Cork Oaks visitor area. We drove around Mount Beckworth to work out and decide where we were gonna park and walk from.    Read moreThis is fantastic place. Now that the track has been repaired you can 4x4 drive to the Top to the plateau where the 104 yr old lone pine tree is. Great view from up that high and easy to see around on a clear day. Also another good scenic view spot 1/2 up on the same track. Captain moonlight cave is not far from here either. Just a bit of a bush walk. No public toilet in the area. It's all natural up there....
