Calabria Family Wines — Attraction in Griffith City Council

Had a few hours to kill before flight back to Sydney. It was a toss-up between De Bortoli and here, and I was very very pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I didn't book as I wasn't sure which one to do. Ended up doing the premium tasting

Very friendly staff, cellar door manager Elise got me started on my wine tasting, then Christine took over. Both were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Loved all the wines I tasted. The highlights for me were the sangiovese and montepulciano. The 100 year old vine The Iconic shiraz was definitely a very good wine, and good value too.

With my sweet tooth, I enjoyed the muscat and the old tawny.

The panino was also very tasty.

Definitely will be back, and will bring my wife and friends too.

PS The website doesn't mention that you get to choose which 6 or 8 wines you get to taste, unlike other places where the wine...

Wines are amazing and excellent value for money. You have to try the Riverina Durif that would give a full bodied Barossa red a run for their money. Fantastic Chardonnay, GSM and Sangiovese but the highlight of the day was the Calabrian St Petri Shiraz Carignan. A triumph of wine making. I’m now a fan of this wine.

We chose the signature tasting with a cheese platter and ended up tasting their entire range. Thanks to Sue who was absolutely fantastic. The cellar door was busy but Sue seated us in a quiet room all to ourselves and looked after us real well. Sue deserves to be employee of the decade. My partner was very happy on his birthday and Sue made it all the more special with a 12% discount on all our purchase. Grazie...

Great wine ..a secret gem..prize winning wine with no bells and whistles... Great friendly service .with so much knowledge to share.. Would be great if they had a cheese platter to enjoy with wine on the grounds outside..or degustation.... I hope this great winery doesn't become pretenscious. Thankyou.. Returned and found the same great service..unfortunately in the middle of a conversation a younger girl appeared from the back and demanded the assistant to assist her with the computer .. It would have been proffessional respectful and courteous if this young girl had just aknowledged the customers and excused herself... But all good . I can't...
