Gunnedah Rural Museum — Attraction in Gunnedah

What a truly wonderful place to visit. I have not seen another rural museum quite like this. The place has a huge collection of rural memorabilia ranging from cooking utensils all the way up to large tractors and machinery. The friendly volunteers are welcoming and have a vast knowledge of the items on display and tell a story of their part in history. If you are travelling through Gunnedah it's a MUST SEE. Gunnedah Rural Museum is what is claimed to be Gunnedah's largest collection of agricultural and transport memorabilia. Apparently, they have around 18,000 exhibits, illustrating the rural history of Gunnedah and the surrounding areas. Picked a beautiful sunny autumn day to visit the Gunnedah Rural Museum. Have driven past it so many times and finally decided to stop in and have a nosey. It’s one of the best agricultural museums I’ve ever seen. So much to see - almost need a half day to take it all in.
