Boroka Lookout is one of my favourite spots in the Grampians, and for good reason. This stunning viewpoint offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the region, making it a must-see for anyone visiting.
The lookout is incredibly accessible, with just a short, easy walk from the car park that takes you straight to the view. You’re greeted by a sweeping vista of Halls Gap, the surrounding valleys, and the vast plains that stretch out below. The view is absolutely stunning, especially in the early morning when the light is soft and the world feels still and peaceful.
What I love most about Boroka is how serene it feels—despite being such a popular spot, it has a sense of quiet solitude that makes it perfect for taking a moment to really absorb the beauty of the landscape. Whether you’re here to take photos, enjoy the view, or just sit and breathe in the fresh air, it’s a place that invites you to pause and reflect.
For me, Boroka Lookout is the perfect spot to start the day, offering a tranquil start to a morning in the Grampians. The views are simply mesmerising, and it’s hard to leave without a sense of awe at the incredible beauty of this part of the world.
If you’re in the area, I can’t recommend Boroka Lookout enough—it’s one of those places that truly captures the essence of the Grampians and gives you a moment to appreciate nature at its finest.

Read moreOn that rainy day, the viewing platform I had been so looking forward to visiting seemed draped in a delicate veil. Thick mist concealed the distant mountains and the horizon, turning what should have been a wide, open view into something hazy and unreal. In that moment, a touch of disappointment welled up in me, as though I had missed the chance to see the most beautiful painting. Yet, as the light rain tapped gently against the railing and the fog drifted slowly with the wind, a different kind of charm emerged—the world felt quiet and mysterious, like stepping into an unfinished ink painting. Although I wasn’t able to witness the vast and magnificent scenery I had hoped for, I could still sense the allure of nature. And perhaps it was this very incompleteness that became a new source of anticipation. In my heart, I made a quiet promise: next time, on a clear and sunny day, I will return to let this unfinished landscape find its perfect ending...
Read moreLet me tell you, the hype about Boroka Lookout is real. I wasn't expecting much, you know, just another scenic stop. But wow, was I wrong! The walk from the carpark was a breeze, even with my dodgy knee. It's a short, paved path that winds through some beautiful stringybark trees.
And then you reach the lookout platform, and BAM! The whole valley unfolds before you. It's like a postcard come to life. I could see Halls Gap nestled down below, Lake Bellfield sparkling in the distance, and the mountain ranges stretching out forever. There's something incredibly calming about seeing such a vast landscape.
I spent ages just soaking it all in. Snapped a few photos, of course, but they just don't do it justice. This is definitely a place you have to experience for yourself. If you're ever in the Grampians and looking for an easy stop with a magnificent view, Boroka Lookout...
