AMAZING ZOO
As avid zoo member, that has gone to every possible zoo Australia-wide, this private zoo is hands-down our favourite of all time.
Staff are super friendly and all love their job. Animals are all healthy and happy. Enclosures are spacious and give a very natural feel. So lovely to finally see a Cheetah have enough room to run! And what an amazing experience it was to see it!
Enjoy feeding the deer that roam freely through certain parts, (cautious to keep your food at arms length as they are ever hungry!) or enjoy a close encounter that is truly worth your money. All in all, this zoo is worth every penny for the amazing experience you and your family will enjoy. You will be face-to-face with cheetahs and up close and personal to redpandas, and other exotic animals. Whats not to love about this zoo! All the animals seemingly love human interactions!
My only thought would be to add a Cafรจ or a small pop-up coffee stand, this would be an amazing way to generate some extra funds for the zoo!
Everyone saying the zoo's gardens aren't well-maintained, obviously don't understand Australia's rugged bushland and the Owner isn't responsible for falling leaves lol. Pathways are all clean and maintained, garbage disposal bins located everywhere so the park is always seemingly clean.
I read some silly lady's review that she stuck her hand into a Cassowary's pen. How silly indeed to not adhere to the safety signs and teach your children more respect. Unfortunately people without self-control will ruin these up close encounters when fencing will be installed to keep us away. Keep your hands to yourself unless it is specified that the animals are friendly and human touch is encouraged.
As for the comments made about a few of the enclosures that are closed, it's only a few and understandable indeed. This is a private zoo, and it is a beautiful one at that.
Looking forward to our next visit...
ย ย ย Read moreWas excited to visit this zoo as it was highly rated and seeing as this was australia, i had an expectation that this zoo will be different from those from home or other country zoos. I guess this poor review is due to a mismatch of expectations. I understand that the animals are taken care off with food and shelter etc but something just seemed off. Some things that made me feel off was the childrens playground was unnecessarily big. Perhaps converting it to a enclosure for the birds would be a good idea as i noticed the bird cages were pretty small? If i was rich maybe i could sponsor this. Give me an email in a few years ok @hallsgapzooadmin. Another thing that kind of bothered me is the snake in the fossils room seemed to be kept in a closet hahaha. But then again i dont know if snakes have feelings so it could very well be happy. ๐๏ธ๐ ๐๏ธ.
The crocodile enclosure seemed pretty sad too. Then again, im assuming the crocodile has no feelings too so idk. Please educate me on this.
The creme da la creme of enclosures was the pony. Looked like it would reach for a gun and put it in its mouth if it could. Brought tears to my eyes. Please educate me on this. Cant really describe how to make this better. Maybe some shelter? Do they like that?
Overall, the staff were friendly and seems to be nice to the kangaroos. Im sure this friendliness is consistent across all the animals and they do the best they can such as feeding and cleaning their enclosures so thumbs up to them. Give yall 2 stars for this.
Overall, im still undecided if i should continue...

The animal encounters are a stand out at this zoo as they provide ordinary animal lovers with the opportunity to step behind the fence and into the animals world. It's all done very respectfully and safely, honouring the animals at all times! I did the meerkat and dingo meetings and they were the highlight of my year so far! The keepers are also such lovely people with a wealth of knowledge and love for animals.
If you like feeding animals, you are able to buy a bag of feed for $3 at the entrance, but don't throw a tantrum like a little girl did today when she found out she couldn't feed the meerkats! You can only feed certain animals. Beware of the deer who can pinch the whole bag of feed out of your hands like ninjas!
If you're bringing a wheelchair, like we did, there's lots of access, you'll just need your muscles as the ground is rocky and sandy with some slight inclines.
There's a playground for kids, ( I think some kids came just for the playground! ๐) and a food van, plus tables to sit and picnic.
The morning seems to be the time most of the animals are up and about and keep an eye out for the white peacock ( which you're allowed to feed!).
If you haven't guessed already, I highly...
