Regional Park with something for everyone. Climbing at Dog Rocks, Mountain Biking at La Larr Ba Gauwa on the west side of the mountain (accessible via parking location opposite Harcourt service station), trail running or hiking along sections of the Goldfields Track, bushwalking, site-seeing, camping (Leanganook Camp Grounds complete with toilet blocks), Cycling across (or completing the Everest Challenge as one local pro - and mate - just did during Covid-iso) and lots more. So much to discover in a small mountain - get out...

A short drive from Bendigo, Mount Alexander is known for it's granite boulders, hiking tracks and scenic views. A great place to get out into nature. Leanganook Campsite was where we parked for the day, heading off into the bush for a walk. A great camping spot for those inclined with toilets and running water. There is little signage and no looping tracks. The Dog Rocks are not far from here, offering large granite boulders with anchors already installed for bouldering...

Such a beautiful place, we wanted to stay for a couple of days in our Caravan, but unfortunately we needed some solar imput, but the clouds and shaded camping sites were not on our side. Will definitely return again, as the sites are spacious with clean toilet facilities and walking trails to enjoy also. We spent a little time looking around after the drive up the mountain and will be back to stay next time, highly...

Views are good but track is hard, would not recommend for beginners. Though we hiked with 5& 8 years old girls, they did it one way only. Lots of fallen trees and rocks can take you bit out of track so, be careful to follow the arrows only as there were not many people doing it, we felt kind of alone in the bush. Must go place for adventure seekers. Look for the signs to start the track and just park at the side.
