Many good things to like about this trout farm. No entry fee, fishing poles (2m bamboo pokes with line and hook is free - rods with reels for $5). Trout and salmon are weighed after cleaning so that is a bonus. $32 for salmon and $24 for trout. Bait is soft pellets that you stick on the hook. It works so don't overthink it. The guys at the farm explain a fair bit including telling you the ponds with fish prices (e.g. $10 per fish in the smaller trout pond). No throwing fish back as usual and a stick is provided to whack the fish on the head so they don't suffer and the flesh stays good). We demonstrated our usual flair and pulled out 5 trout (2.2kg cleaned) in about 10 mins. Apparently the trout in our pond went in that morning and hadn't acquired hook smarts yet. But be patient and don't expect our results. They also clean and fillet for an additional charge but we enjoy...

Our visit to Stony Creek Trout Farm was absolutely fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had the best experience possible. They provided us with free bait and rods, which was a huge help, and our guide shared insider tips and tricks that led to a successful catch for everyone in our group.

The farm’s facilities are spotless, modern, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and enjoyable environment. We also appreciated the on-site cleaning and filleting services—our guide demonstrated how to remove the roe right in front of us, making it both educational and fun.

Overall, a top-notch experience that combines great customer service, quality facilities, and memorable fishing moments. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, well-run...

Fantastic, happy, friendly staff. The grounds were in stunning conditions despite the rain they had & it was July when we went. The fishing (no surprise) was great. The taste of the fish (once we got home to cook them) was fresh no muddy taste at all. Meaning they truly look after their ponds the fish are in. There are many ponds to fish and the staff will point out which ponds have what size and species. There are also sign posts near the different ponds telling you what fish is in it. They have fishing rod's or bamboo poles free to use and the bate, hooks are also supplied free. You are also allowed to use your own fishing gear which l personally thought was great. Golden trout, Fresh water Salmon, Rainbow trout. All were beautiful eating. We will definitely be back the Golden trout...
