Forget it to many flogs who can't follow basic road rules in 4x4s I've never experienced such pathetic driving on weekends untill I come to South West of WA nobody drives with consideration towards other road users and 90 of the weekend drivers have their heads stuck up their arse completely turned us off from ever retuning to the area apart from all the broken glass and rubbish laying around everywhere I think the new dam is not better then the old dam and apart from certain people who do not like outsiders using this dam for recreational activities we found the other day where we were swimming they dumped dead carcases in the water and yes it was deliberately done the behaviour from modern society humans is disgusting overall every ones opinions are different hopefully others don't experience what we did on the weekends since the pandemic we've noticed so many camping 4x4s with all the crap they need to go camping driving on regional highways and tracks like complete idiots hopefully the authorities will have a...

Sadly the out of control WA free camping behaviour has completely turned us of from ever retuning to the Harvey dam permanently after what we experienced here on the 2/3/2025 was the end for us the bad WA free camping behaviour and attitude completely ruined the Harvey dam 4x4s threating other campers on Clark road the young group was driving through other peoples camps and intimidating other campers the WA 4x4 attitude is completely disgusting destroying vegetation rubbish and bad behaviour no authorities around so due to our safety we've decided the Harvey dam is permanently over the upsetting part was the WA 4x4 thugs didn't even care the were scaring a faimly of kids in the next camp this behaviour happens all the time but I found it's pointless advertising the issues because WA people are very naive about their state the wild wild west has always had a bad reputation for bad free camping behaviour and attitude hopefully others don't experienced what we did so we decided to move on and never...

Harvey Dam is a great day trip. The Amphitheatre section in front of the dam wall boasts beautifully manicured gardens, enclosed playground, BBQ facilities, lawn sections, gazebos with tables and chairs, a public toilet, and cemented paths and bridges, all suitable for prams and wheelchairs. There is adequate shade for summer picnics and walk trails including stairs and paths to the dam wall. You can drive up close to overlook the dam itself if you are unable to hike. A fun day out for families of all ages. If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle there are a few gravel tracks into the bushland and areas surrounding the reservoir where you can fish for trout and other species in the season. (With a recreational fresh water fish licence) Spring is a great wildflower time with many blooming in the bushland surrounding the over 500 hectares of dam footprint meandering through gullies and tributaries into the main catchment. Within an hours drive from Bunbury CBD, its definitely a trip to share with family...

A huge dam wall greets you as you enter the main part of this dam. Small playground for little kids. We visited further around (just over the bridge) where hubby tried again to catch a fish....neint 😒 vast waters with lots of ins and outs to explore if you have time. Little explore along the waters edge looking at different quartz rocks & fools gold with the kids. Our youngest (master 8) managed to fall into a huge mud ditch and get soaked up to his waist...was a little bit funny...🤣

I would visit this location every weekend and any other day to relax of I live very close by. I've visited many dams around WA, this is by far one of the best. Serene environment, very neat and tidy, peaceful, well managed with lot of facilities to accommodate different activities. Bbq, toilet, picnic seats, walking tracks, covered kid's playground, amphitheater, plenty parking lots, dam look out. Surely a place to visit.
