Herdsman Lake was an unexpected, pleasant surprise, we didn't expect much and only proceeded to walk around the area to kill some time, but the more we explored this natural setting the more we discovered to our liking.
It was very quiet and peaceful with very few other people walking around, and that could be because it was a quiet time during the week, our favourite part was after walking on a raised wooden pathway by the side of a lake and going into a visually stunning area with lots of light grey coloured trees in the water, it reminded me of movies that I had seen of the Florida everglades, it was almost a surreal experience.
Anyone who has an interest in taking special photographs with a different background and landscape would appreciate spending some time walking around...

Read moreThis is a beautiful place for a walk and if you like wildlife you just can't beat this place . No toilets or cafe here so bring plenty to drink and lunch and do the 8km loop round the lake . This lake has the most tiger snakes in the one area in Australia so I love it for picture taking. Still very safe to walk just stay out of long grass and please keep pets on a leash. Tiger snakes are not aggressive just give them space and they will move away quickly back into longer grass. Bird life is brilliant especially in the spring but always something to see...
