Herveys Range Tea Rooms is always a lovely experience as a nice way to get away from the bustle of Townsville while still only being under 30 minutes away. The range is very peaceful and quiet and you really feel relaxed amongst nature. Service is here is good, but it can be a little bit slow during peak periods, so ensure to order early. Bookings are absolutely essential and it's also important to note that while dogs are normally welcome when dining outside, dogs are not permitted on the weekend currently. There are also a number of outdoor games/toys for kids to use on the grassy areas.

We ordered different foods and drinks, including the breakfast and a steak sandwich. Everything tasted great and the coffee and chai we ordered was well made. We were pleasantly surprised as well to see the change to biodegradable plates and cutlery as well, which is a great step forward for being more environmentally friendly.

The interior definitely has a very heritage feeling, and there is a huge range of tea leaves available if you are a big tea fan. This place is also home to the famous kopi luwak, if you are willing to try it. They have changed the way dining is now - with it all being outdoors, and the indoor area has been transformed to feature a range of locally made products that are available to purchase and different historical relics.

This is an absolutely wonderful place if you want to enjoy a morning or afternoon tea and I highly recommend checking it out for both...

Booked and made a reservation for two, and paid for $70 worth of food and coffee. 70 minutes later, we still didn’t even have our drinks. Only when I enquired about how far off they were, I was told they were understaffed and there were still six orders in front of mine. They were at about 50-60% capacity. I understand being understaffed in the current pandemic, but there were two opportunities to let us know they were understaffed/there was an extended delay for food and coffee. Once when I called to make the booking prior to arriving, and the second when I ordered and paid for the meals. It is unprofessional to not even mention such an extended delay to customers, and a waste of our time. I used to work in the industry and I would always let customers know once we were 15 minutes behind. That way, people are more understanding, or at least have the option to leave if in a hurry. Needless to say, we ended up getting a refund 80 minutes in and leaving. The staff were nice, but hopefully they take this feedback...

I have been here with my family a number of times now but I am continually disappointed with the experience. I always expect the place to have improved since my previous visit but I no longer believe this will happen. The service and food is not good, and really not worth the long drive. Just a few examples from my experiences: ordered an Iced Chocolate drink only to have room temperature/warm milk used in it; my chai latte's usually taste like heated up plain milk and I have to go in to the counter and ask for more chai to be added; the pies are heated in a microwave and the crust was spongy, pale and soggy- inedible; the Ice cream tastes like a Home-brand variety; I ask for my coffees to be made extra hot but will come out barely warm; the scones are not good at all and are nothing like they used to be years ago; and don't bother asking for a soft poached egg. The owners really should regularly review the quality of their food they are serving. The location itself...

Booked online. Wait for 2 hours to get coffee and tea and foods. Over 90 min, asked is there any chance when our foods and coffees comes out? Answer was ' It is comes out when it's ready'. Breaky beacame a lunch. Paid 80 bucks for 2 ppl. Canned baked beans, cheap sausage, expensive comepare to quality. Tea is alright. But not really worth for 2 hours tho. Take 30 min to get sugar for my tea. Well I can not use the sugar becasues tea is gone. Clean my self for space on table. Selling old memory with 'don't give a s*** mind'. Never again for me. Quality, service both are not here. Pic : $18 veggie breaky. Not even anything in the smashed avo. No salt paper nor lemon juice.

Our first time here, up from Melbourne. The drive on the way up the hill has some gorgeous outlooks. Stop towards the look out at the top and take in the views. A short trip up the road and to the Herveys Ranges Tea Rooms. Peacefully located in nature, loads of green coverage to sit, dine and relax under. The Dirty Chai is delicious, accompanied by the hugest fresh scones I've ever seen. One scone with with jam and cream, or cream and jam? Haha ... full on one. Order and pay inside and the staff bring it to your table. Any tables a great table. We sat at #33. Friendly staff, nice location, recommend stopping in.
