A lovely walk. The start from Kingston Beach has two options - go left for the Alum Cliff Track and straight up a fairly standard walking track, or go low to the Tyndall Beach steps and at about the 600m mark you reach stairs to go straight up to meet the Alum Cliffs Track. I walked through to the shot tower then beyond towards Taroona where the entry/exit to Alum Cliff Track is off a private driveway (there is a sign). I also did the tower. Total distance was 9.65km. I’m not the fittest by any stretch, this circuit took me 2.5 hours with stops for pictures and for occasional heavy breathing! The extra section to the tower has a large descent and ascent. Not amazing views but quite pretty and some nice sections with relief from the sun. Lots of ups and downs as you’d expect for a coastal walk.

About 1 hour one-way (2hr return) at a moderate pace. Seems easiest to start from the carpark at Kingston dog beach where ample parking is available. Mostly a sheltered bush track, so bit hard to see ocean views but at least the shade helps on a hot day! The track is uneven & gets muddy/slippery in parts, so watch your step. Visited on a Monday morning & only passed about 6 others, so not too busy. Appears dog-friendly by the number of dogs we passed. No toilets.

Starting from Taroona is a little bit harder than from Kingston with so many steps to start. Nice view along the ocean and then down to the rock pool that kids felt so fantastic.

A lovely walk, but not as many cliff views as I would have enjoyed. Managed to finish one way whilst being in the middle of my second trimester, but there is a section with quite a few steps (seen...
