Tolosa Park — Attraction in Hobart

Tolosa Park in Hobart is a hidden gem that exceeded my expectations. With its beautifully landscaped grounds and well-maintained trails, it is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The park offers a variety of amenities, including picnic areas, playgrounds, and even a dog-friendly space, making it suitable for visitors of all ages and interests.

One of the highlights of Tolosa Park is its serene lake, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The park also features stunning views of Mount Wellington, adding to its charm. I particularly loved the abundance of wildlife in the area, as I spotted several species of birds and even some kangaroos during my visit.

The park is clean and well-kept, thanks to the efforts of the staff and volunteers. The facilities, such as the toilets and BBQ areas, were also in good condition. Additionally, the park offers ample parking space, making it easily accessible.

The only reason I didn't give Tolosa Park a full 5-star rating is because the signage could be improved. It was sometimes difficult to navigate around the park due to the lack of clear directions. However, this minor issue did not detract from my...

Great place to take a big group and have a BBQ. Hut booking is essential and keep a copy of your booking with you.

When picking which hut will work best for your group A) how many guests are coming - it is tassie, it will likely rain so sufficient undercover area is a must! B) decide if you value being close to a kids playground or the toilet example: the walk to the toilet can be hard for the elderly

Tolosa Park is the northern part of Wellington Park in greater Hobart. It is a go to spot for mountain biking, hiking and trail running. The views over the Derwent are worth the effort. The park is linked to the larger park by the North South Track, which starts at The Springs on Mt Wellington and ends in Tolosa. The Park is well maintained by Glenorchy City Council.
