The place is beautiful but was a little disappointed. We had booked the Botanical foraging cocktail making workshop for a decent sized group as part of a girls weekend/40th bday. The write up, the website seemed amazing and exactly what we were after to do for a couple of hours. We started with the "wine tasting" which wasn't very pleasant and the host didn't have much knowledge at all. Then we came to the Botanical cocktail making part! We thought we would be foraging for herbs/spices to mix and make cocktails but it was "foraging" for leaves, flowers etc to peg on the side of the glass while we mixed straight into our little shot glass sized glasses with the wine we tasted and sodastream mixes and sweet uht juice (which adding sweet juice to already overly sweet wine was not delightful st all!) We were surprised at how much (just over $400) our group paid for such an unorganised and very minimal experience. We didn't even get a real cocktail!!! We could've even driven instead of wasting money on cabs, if we knew we weren't getting standard drinks. Also we had booked for 10 ladies and put a deposit down of two ppl, one lady was ill and didn't make it. They wanted us to pay for 10 when only 9 participated but with some negotiating they only charged for 9 eventually.
Obviously we made it fun as we were all together but I would not recommend doing this and I wish we'd spent that much money somewhere else. We could've just been at the pub for hours with that kitty of money.
Like I said it's a very pretty property and we got some great photos and videos together and that's...
Read moreWow, what an incredible experience!
This location is absolutely perfect - we stumbled upon it by chance and I'm so glad we did. We had the chance to try the chocolate collection with wine tasting, as we didnt book for the tour (unplanned visit) The team was incredibly friendly, and we were even lucky enough to have the owner join us and share her knowledge about the wines.
To note, that all the wines are sweet. There was no dry wine at that time. However, I got the pomegranate and lime, as recommended by the team, to mix it with prosseco, didnt try it yet tho. Would prefer to try dry wine, as I am not particularly fond of sweet wines.
Overall, it was a beautiful experience that I highly recommend to anyone in the area!
And not to mention that the yard is perfectly amazing...
Read moreWe held our wedding ceremony at Firescreek Botanical Winery on the first weekend in May this year. Nadia was an absolute pleasure to deal with during the whole planning process and we were made to feel relaxed and at home on our wedding day. The gardens looked spectacular and everything went beautifully from the moment we arrived. They really looked after us to make sure that we felt relaxed and at home. Firescreek Botanical Winery is the ideal venue for your wedding ceremony because the gardens are second to none and they have a beautiful chapel for back up during rainy weather. They went above and beyond all our expectations and we highly recommend them for your...
