This bridge exceeded my expectation! It doesn’t deserve all that hate :( All the lights were amazing. It almost looks like le the Golden Gate Bridge. Recommend taking this bridge for travelling across the river

Unsung icon of the burdekin

Take a length of pvc conduit with you to clear away the spider website that form across the path

point of interest - its marginally shorter than the sydney harbour bridge by around 50m. keep your eyes on the road when crossing behind the wheel - there is very little distance between yourself and oncoming traffic - don't even think of speeding across this bridge.

Arachnophobes beware - there are thousands of spiders that have made this bridge their home , you'll see them on the pedestrian walkway across the bridge.

If you are heading north the pedestrian access is on the right handside. Check out my pictures of the pedestrian walkways. You can access the pedestrian walkway on the northern side too there are parks on the left hand side a few hundred meters from the bridge.

When approaching from the north you'll see a wide old asphalt road to the left of the highway curving off to the left. Take that road and staying parallel to the highway the road will take you to a defacto parking area.

Look for "bridge access marker stone" on google maps and the app might just...

Wow! What a time to be alive. For the 30 seconds I drove across this bridge I experienced an array of emotions. My initial thoughts were that of disappointment, the surface of the road was so bumpy that little jimmy flew out of his booster seat and sailed through the open window. However, my mood was soon changed when I gazed my eyes over the panoramic views of the Croc infested waters. Would definitely recommend...

What a bridge! I have been to many bridges in my years on earth however there are very few that compare to this bridge. Unfortunately, I must say the road surfacing was sub par and our box of eggs bounced off the roof box and now there is a small omelette cooking on our hood. Still, far better than swimming...
