Beautiful campground, maintained by the community. It's donation based. There are spotless toilets, hot showers and a campground kitchen with potable water. Plenty of bins. When we arrived we circled the lake to get our bearings in regards to the orientation. It was end of the week, school holidays so there was a few campers around. We chose a spot right on the water, facing west, so we had a beautiful sunset from the camper. Next day we took the hike to the larger adjacent lake. Really nice campground, don't forget to donate for your stay!

A picturesque camp ground with a choice of either free camping (by donation) or with power at $20 per night. Showers, toilets, washing machine & water on the spectacular, pristine waters of Lake Lascelles, where bird life abounds. For the non campers there are cabins also. Walking distance to town. Town also has a dump point.

What a fantastic find. Lake Lascelles, is a great place not only for your fur friends, but the whole family. Lake Lascelles is in the town of Hopetoun, in the southern Mallee region. The towns folk are the friendliest people only to happy to assist in any way. Make sure it is on your bucket list.

We happily free camped here for 2 nights while exploring the silo trail. Another example of the best of Australian culture, love of camping, nature and the great out doors! Lake Lascelles is an incredible man made lake - a welcome sight and experience in drought country. You can swim, fish and boat on the lake. Love places that encourage free or donation camping. Amenities block with shower and toilets. Bins for rubbish. Paid powered camping available as well. Driving around we found weirs etc that also offered camping - and Council swimming pools nearby. A historic area to explore .... Highly recommend Lake Lascelles as a base. Grassed Lake frontage. Hopetoun and other small towns have their attractions. Take the time to experience! Thank you to those that maintain this area! A job well done and...

Just spent 6 nights here and loved our stay. Can't ask for much more from a free camping ground. There's clean toilets and showers which was a bonus. You can usually get a spot right on the water, there's fire pits around the lake you can use and it's poet friendly. You can swim in the lake, but it's sludge mud on the bottom which isn't the nicest on the feet, it's also very shallow. You could stand up in the middle of the lake. We found everyone really friendly, and made some great camp buddies with our neighbours. The town of Hopetoun isn't much, and be careful that the only place to get suppliers (IGA) closes at 1pm on the weekend. You can get booze from the pub, but if you need anything else, your...

Our third time here and enjoyed it again so much. Wasn't as busy as we thought it would be for Easter. We stayed in free area and yes when we leave we will leave a donation. I was horrified at the way the ladies amenities block was left on the free side Easter Monday. It was disgusting, so off I went with my broom, disinfectant, rubbish bags and cleaning cloth. I figured if I was going to use it, it had to be cleaned. If everyone cleaned up after themselves instead of relying on volunteers to clean it would be so much nicer. Dirty undies, used pads, toilet paper and rubbish 🤢. Took me 10 minutes to clean. Thank you to the people in Hopetoun for allowing us to stay in this wonderful place. Will definitely...
