Great trip up from Jamberoo, Scenic Some outstanding views to 7 mile beach as well as Kiama and Coast line. Good place to bring a picnic. Lots of Seating available, some well hidden in the bushes. Plenty of parking . Lots of space for running around. Toilets available near the towers but at below ground level, so follow the path from the Top (west facing ) look out Bring your own water, no drinking water. Two of the look outs are an easy walk, the third is a bit of a hike back up (stairs, level 3 climb, a few places to stop). Easy access from carpark to first look out, looking toward Kiama, easily accessible (not sure about wheel chairs ) , has a good viewing platform. The Top look out , looking west towards escarpment is well built , has a good view platform and easy to get to , except the hike up from the car park. The southern most look out has the best views, to Seven mile beach and Gerroa, but has no clear Cement path so you can feel like a bit of an explorer until you see a path marker. This one is a bit of a hike back , as it has stairs , about a level 3 climb with a few places to stop. Nice seating in the trees though. Really well done. Good phone signal there for...
Read moreA must visit detour from the main strip of Kiama and the Blowhole. Saddleback is one of the most stunning lookouts I have ever visited. It comes close to the vista from Hearst Castle in California but Saddleback is hands down more impressive. It is a solid 10 minute uphill drive from Kiama High School (or else would take about 1 hour to hike up or about 30 minutes+ to cycle) and there are plenty of viewpoints along the way. Once up the top, the main northern lookout is the first point of contact and offers unbelievable coastal views up to Wollongong as well as the Illawarra Scarp and all the amazing dairy country in between. The recently opened (2016) southern lookout is equally stunning with awesome views of Seven Mile Beach, more of the Scarp and a pretty clear view of Pigeon House in the distance. The western outlook is least impressive but still worth a look. Don't miss Saddleback on your next visit to...
Read moreThe most striking aspect of Clover Hill is its panoramic views. On one side, the majestic mountains stand tall, their peaks often kissed by clouds, offering a sense of grandiosity and awe. On the other, the serene sea extends to the horizon, its rhythmic waves providing a calming soundtrack to the area’s natural beauty. The contrast between the imposing mountains and the peaceful sea creates a harmonious balance that is rare and enchanting.
Equally charming is the sight of cows grazing leisurely on the lush green fields of Clover Hill. The pastoral scenes are a reminder of the simple, unhurried pace of life here, far removed from the bustle of urban settings. The cows add a touch of bucolic bliss to the landscape, making it a perfect retreat for those seeking to reconnect...
