We brought our kids here when they were about 7 or 8 years old and they loved it. They have been asking for years to return. Yep, we made it almost ten years later. ||We were not disappointed. ||Again we used the shearers quarters. At first we thought we may have been too hot during the night but it was very comfortable. One disappointing thing was that the care takers had their caravans behind the quarters so you could not just look out to the paddock and down to the creek like last time. Also could hear their radios. ||Next time, and there will be a next time we will bring the camping gear and head down to the creek. ||This is the perfect spot to step back in time and stop to just listen to the world breath. I think that one night is just not enough though. We will need to stay for at least 3 nights next time. ||There are lovely little cottages to stay in or you could bring a caravan if camping of the shearers quarters are not your thing. This place is perfect for all age groups. ||Jondaryan woodshed specialise in weddings with a country feel. The beauty of having a wedding here is you can party under the stars and in the shearing shed until you are ready to rest on site. Plus your friends and family can stay on too without having to pay those big city prices. ||Truly a must see for every Queenslander. Come on an visit the home of the Jackie Hhowe singlet. ||If you live in the South East corner of Queensland it is only about 2 and half hours...

Loved this place! Family of 4 bunked it for the night in the comfy shearers cabins. Superb amenities block right outside. Kids love wandering through the woolshed, and the pioneer buildings, giving them some idea of what it was like for early settlers and their families. Sadly we arrived a week after the big Jackie Howe festival so there wasn't much else going on around the site. An animal nursery/farmyard kept the kids entertained as well as the undercover fire pit in the camp kitchen. Beautifully quiet and quaint, a few caravans pulled in for the night but woke to birds chirping and a lovely sunrise. The woolshe itself is just enormous and well worth a wander through. Plenty of old machinery, trucks, tractor, windmills, an original old dairy and cheese factory and loads of historical displays and info to check out. Definitely worth a visit for anyone of any age! Onsite restaurant as well, bush tucker inspired. We had a good meal on a quiet...

We recently stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it even though it rained quite a bit. The caretakers took time to explain everything and were very thorough. The grassed areas were well kept and the amenities very clean and tidy and obviously recently upgraded, very nice. There is also a building under construction that looks like it will be an impressive kitchen area. There was a fair number of powered sites and a huge number of unpowered sites. The unpowered site Calvert a huge area some marked out( up near toilets, showers etc) while there was basically find your own space down by the creek. Good options all round. I imagine it could get very busy during the holidays etc but we went during the week so was nice and quiet. The fee appears high but includes unlimited visits ( between certain times of course) to the woodshed museum great way to spend a nice pleasant couple of hours.

Just spent 3 days at the Woolshed in our caravan. The grounds and facilities are excellent. Potable water is available but not for direct connection to caravans. There is also a good licensed cafe and coffee shop that operates till about 4:30pm each day. The camping fee also provides admission to the museum. Can certainly recommend this as a waypoint for passing vans but the experience would be much better if the owner/manager Jondaryn Shire Council fully utilised the facility and delivered on the hype in their brochures. Although it was school holidays there were no demonstrations or guided tours on offer. Guess it is event orientated rather than providing an authentic tourist destination. Has great potential but certainly not being exploited at present

What a great place to stay, relax and unwind. Good facilities, friendly helpful staff and tasty fresh food. We took the day to wander the whole place and take in the history of the area, it was so Interesting. The staff were so friendly and helpful we decided to have lunch at the restaurant on site. What a lovely surprise the food was well presented, very fresh and tasty. It was delivered in a timely manner by a very pleasant young lady. I thought it was great value. We have done the basic camping with a camp kitchen and also stayed in the sheerers accommodation/bunk house... that was fun. We will return again soon to explore further
