Whatever you do, and no matter how many days you stay in Kakadu National Park, get ready to be amazed! It's definitely one of the most beautiful national parks I have visited in my life. It's not only the biggest territorial park in the country, but it's also listed for both cultural and natural values at the UNESCO, for more than valid reasons!

We visited 2 cultural centers that complete each other, but if you have time for one only then Warandjan cultural center is the best (more comprehensive and better maintained with a big shop) than the Bowali center.

I would recommend spending at least one hour in this center. I had less than 30 minutes (packaged tour...), and that was really not enough to enjoy the exhibition and read everything properly.

In any case, don't forget to pay the fee before you enter the park and ENJOY this...

This was amazing... the set up and lay out was so good... once you realised how the information boards worked I was so impressed... the local aboriginal language then the English language and then a brief reflection from a local inhabitant on the old ways... the displays are basic but like it is in real life...and you can see the the ingenious thought process in "making do'.... I would say this was 1 of the best and informative in a way I could understand displays I have seen .... and all for free... a must see if you are...

Great, informative centre. Shady spots outside to sit.

Free entry. Visit the cinema - signage is poor pointing to it but fascinating to spend time. The gift shop is also great and contains a great selection of books, souvenirs and artwork by local artists. Support local community and buy here rather than in Darwin.

The displays themselves are spectacular and informative.

Only gripes, no fresh drinking water to refill from and the entrance can get very crowded when large groups arrive. But still best visitor centre in...

This was a very informative, free entry, cultural centre. I liked the stories and information, helped me understand the culture a lot. The commentary did not sound accusatory, and I felt that they welcomed us to their backyard and felt humbled that they share their cultural heritage with us. The gift shop at the end is really great! Something for all budgets. I wish I could afford the high end stuff. Suitable for wheelchairs and prams with easy access.

A really excellent exhibition which is located in Murumburr Country, near the lively Yellow water billabong which tells the story of the local Indigenous culture created by the Bininj/Mungguy people. As you walk through the extensive display of the exhibition, you get the story of the land the people in the ancient dreamtime. It has an equally excellent shop which has many items made by local artists at reasonable prices.

Close to Cooinda Lodge & Yellow Water billabong. Free entry. I had limited time & tired, so a quick look see sadly. Smaller gallery which cannot be photographed inside - though you can do so outside. Showcases artwork mainly from indigenous artists in the area. Gift shop is like an extension of the art gallery - pricey but goes back to artists. Toilets are ok. Large free parking area.
