We stopped here for sunset, the car park and facilities seem to be well maintained. The walk to the Hawk's Head is short from the car park. I was disappointed with the view, definitely the least impressive of the 3 main ones which are signposted and there are definitely more interesting spots along the river gorge.
The official lookout platform is poorly placed and gives a bad view of the Hawks Head.
The best photos are taken from over the barriers where signs forbid you from going. (even ones on the tourism/Parks and Wildlife Gov website)

Read moreThis is one of two viewpoint stops you can make along the south entrance to Kalbarri National Park. You'll find a small carpark area, public toilet and a short 200 metre walk to a viewpoint down into the valley below.
The views are really nice in the evening with the sun at your back. We spotted kangaroos down by the riverbank as well as three black-flanked rock wallabies in the rock pile just below and to the right side of the viewing deck.

So if you want some peace and quiet just have a picnic on the benches nearby and enjoy the gorgeous views. You do need a bit of imagination to see the Hawk’s head but you definitely will not miss it. Suggest you go to the more popular attractions first to avoid the crowd and on the way back to town...
