We stopped by Meanarra Hill Lookout on our way back to Kalbarri from Denham. The carpark is decently sized with toilets available. The path to the lookout is quite a short distance from the carpark. There are a couple of lookout points which show the scenic views of the area around the coast. the larger area, which happens to be the furthest away, also has cover and benches. Like many of the attractions in the area, there are plenty of information boards so you can learn a few things about the area. Although there are stairs, there is also a path that can be used instead so it is quite accessible. There is a walking trail here called the Malleefowl Trail, a 1.5km loop which should take about an hour. We didn't have time but it would have been interesting to walk along the gravelly path. It was a nice stop to get really nice views...
Read moreThe Meanarra Hill Lookout walk is a 300m return trail with stunning panoramic views over the town of Kalbarri, the mouth of the Murchison River and inland. Meanarra Hill is 207m above sea level, the perfect viewing point for 360° views of Kalbarri. Unfortunately it was over cast and threatening rain when I visited, however, this is an ideal spot for sunset photos!
The hill has various lookouts and shade shelters with wheelchair friendly paved paths. The carpark is expansive and has decent public toilets. Lots of interactive education signage about the landscape and traditional owners. Follow the Malleefowl Walk Trail, a 1.5km loop which takes about an hour.
Great panoramic views, pity about the weather. Awesome job Kalbarri on all your tourism...
